Welcome to Codex Grove

Codex Grove is a living digital garden;
A space for ideas, experiments, and creative growth.
It's part library, part studio, part trail journal, part research lab. You'll find thoughts in many stages here: fresh seeds, ongoing sprouts, ferments in progress, and more fully-formed works.This site grows over time—organically, imperfectly, and with intention.

You're here early, that's exciting! I'm going to be iterating on the design while building. It will try on a few (or more) outfits, my priority was to get Codex Grove up so I can start building and creating in public and that meant minimal styling. I'm commited to keeping it accessible (and mostly typo free... mostly), but also keep in mind the changing nature of my garden. Take part in the experiment with me.

Lifecycle Labels

While navigating the garden you'll come across these phase labels~

I'm Elizabeth Szugye! A curious builder, writer, designer, and technologist. This space reflects my desire to create in public, to share what I learn, and to explore the messy intersection of code, art, and thought. Codex Grove is where I gather and cultivate the things that matter to me; from technical deep dives to philosophical tangents.

I believe in digital spaces with soul. This one was built (is being built) by me using native web technologies, a custom system of web components, Typescript, Vite, and a modular, service-oriented architecture (You'll get to see more of this later). Most of the content is authored in Markdown, parsed into structured nodes, and will be enhanced with dynamic interactions. The whole system is a work in progress—and part of the joy is watching it evolve! I'll be writing more in depth about it, inspirations (people, ideas, tech stacks, popular solutions, tradeoffs), other technical details and many, many more things. Take a look around and come back soon to see what I've been up to~
